About Prince of Songkla University, Thailand

      Prince of Songkla University (PSU) was established in 1967 as the first university in southern Thailand. The original aims of the university were to raise the general education standards and support regional industry and development. Today, PSU is a leading public university, committed to academic excellence, reputable research and innovation. It is one of the nine national research universities and among the top 10 comprehensive universities in Thailand by Quacquarelli Symonds’ ranking.

      The university is proud of its distinguished record of achievements in teaching, research, development, and services to community. It has contributed significantly to the development of the country and consistently turned out well-qualified graduates of high-professional standing.

      Prince of Songkla University Pattani campus (PSUPN) is among one of five campuses and located in Pattani Province. There are eight faculties, including, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Faculty of Communication Sciences, Faculty of Political Science and Faculty of Nursing, and five offices/institute to support education management, research, academic services and to safeguard arts and culture to build strength and peace of multicultural society in the three southern border provinces.

      Our vision is, “University for innovation and society in developing the Southern border areas based on multiculturalism”. Our goal is to be a sustainable university determining to develop knowledge, technology, and innovation for "2 Reduces 2 Increases" - reducing poverty and illness, and increasing capacity and capability of the area through its natural resources, environmental, and multicultural capitals by 2024. To achieve our vision, we focus on 4 areas: innovative teaching & smart learning, smart students & future-ready graduate, research eco- system & university engagement and digital, green & sustainable university. To drive our goal, PSUPN is playing as an active member of a number of international associations, such as, Regional Network on Poverty Eradication (RENPER), which successfully hosted for the international virtual conference in 2021. Today, we are a leading pubic university, committed to academic excellence, reputation research and innovation. Currently, QS World University Ranking 2022 has ranked PSU 5 th in the country and 801-1000 th in the world.

      As a research university, we have created innovations and social improvements. We will continue these missions in order to provide the public a better life quality, to today and in the future as guided by the motto of the Prince of Songkla, His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol Adulyadej: “Our Soul is for the Benefit of Mankind”.
